Discovering the Dedica Festival

The Dedica Festival organised by the Thesis association of Pordenone represents a cultural landmark in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is a unique cultural event on the Italian and international scene, created with the aim of exploring and enhancing the thought and works of great authors from all over the world.

For over thirty years, the Festival has dedicated its entire programme to a single personality of world literature, offering an immersive journey through meetings, performances, exhibitions, readings and thematic insights.

This original format distinguishes the Dedica Festival from any other literary festival, transforming it into an opportunity for dialogue between the public and the protagonist author. The multidisciplinary approach ensures that the event is not limited to literature, but also covers historical, social and cultural themes, prompting profound reflections on current issues and the different realities of the contemporary world.

The Dedica Scuola

Alongside the events dedicated to the general public, the Dedica Festival is also aimed at schools through the Dedica Scuola, a series of initiatives designed to bring teachers and students from the primary to the high school closer to the themes and works of the current edition's leading author.

Dedica Scuola was born with the aim of transforming literature into a bridge between cultures, bringing into classrooms opportunities for reflection on topics of global relevance. Thanks to workshops, didactic paths and moments of debate, students have the opportunity to delve into literary texts and develop critical awareness of the challenges of the contemporary world.

The programme includes various events that get the students involved in an interactive experience, encouraging creativity and active participation. For example, students are invited to produce their own personal interpretations through graphic and multimedia projects and creative writing based on the writer's works that they read.

Dedica Scuola initiatives include:

  • Reading with Dedica

  • Dedica Scuola and University

  • Competition "Words and Images"

  • Project "Borders"

  • Project Equal/Different (Uguali/Diversi)
