The educational project stems from the research programme ‘Knowing and applying the Dedica Scuola Model in the school context of the Udine district’, in partnership between the University of Udine and Dedica Festival.

It is a multidisciplinary educational course in which French study, literature and civic education are intertwined. The topics are inspired by the life and work of the author protagonist of the XXXI edition of the Dedica Festival: Kader Abdolah. The themes addressed by the author offer original ideas for exploring intercultural dialogue and enriching the students' linguistic and personal skills.

Thanks to the collaboration between the University of Udine, local schools and the Dedica Festival, the classrooms are transformed into places of creativity and active learning, offering a didactic approach that connects schools and international culture.

Project Structure

The project consists of a series of meetings aimed at involving students and teachers in a dynamic and interactive way. The activities will be held in foreign language and supported by digital tools. Example of activities include:

• Introductory lessons on the author
• Translation and creative writing activities
• Guided discussions

C.R.E.A. Competition

The project also includes the C.R.E.A.- Competition of Expressive and Artistic Realisation, an opportunity for students to put their acquired skills into practice.

Final Conference

The climax of the project will be the final meeting with the author. A special event during which the students will have the opportunity to interact directly with Kader Abdolah. This meeting is a unique experience to deepen the topics covered during the course of the project and to discuss with one of the most influential writers in contemporary literature.
